In 2006 I graduated with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature. I worked in corporate for a few years and realized that it was not what I wanted to do. In the fall of 2008, I went back to SUNY Buffalo State and pursued my degree in Secondary English Education (7-12). I graduated in 2010 with my Masters of Education in Secondary English Education. Since then I have had two long term positions in Buffalo, NY. In the summer of 2011, I accepted my position as an English teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC. In August 2011, I started working at Harding University High School.
I worked as a 9th grade English teacher at Harding University High School for 5 years. My last year I served as the English Department Chair as well as 9th grade Lead Teacher. My job at HUHS was an amazing experience. I learned a lot from my students, and I know they learned a lot from me as well. After my 5th year a HUHS, I wanted to challenge myself more, and in doing so, I utilized my education and decided that I wanted to step out of the high school role. So, that is what has brought me to this current experience at Jay M. Robinson Middle School, where I will begin my third year teaching middle school. I am very excited about what my students have to offer.
